The northeast early on had abolished slavery; while the south was very dependent on thralldom. In the south, slave owners needed their slaves to pick cotton which their livelong saving lived on, but in the early 1800s, owning slaves was becoming too expensive, and some slave owners were even starting to free theirs. It was not until Eli Whitney came author with the Cotton Gin, which was a machine that made it a integral lot easier to get the seeds out of cotton. They now needed their slaves again. In the northeast, around the same time, they were going through the Industrial Revolution. Eli Whitney, again, came forrader with the idea of interchangeable parts to manufacture muskets. This created to a greater extent factories and more jobs, and unlike the south, the northeast depended on women and children to do the work. Then, in 1820-1840, immigrants arrived hoping for jobs in factories. This made it possible for children to have a childhood and some people had time for education, religion, art, exc. Women also started to have an influence outside(a) of the home. In the north, towns began to grow because the National Road was build and the Erie canalise was built-which was possible because of the Hudson River-making travel easier. The towns formed around two of these things. South was very disconnected from the north. North was full of abolitionists, all oral presentation out against slavery while the south still had slavery .
